About the scanner and QR generator

AR/VR QR Code Scanner is a free browser tool at arvrqr.com for scanning QR codes and generating QR codes from website URLs. Scanning and generation run locally in your browser.

How do I scan a QR code?

  1. Open arvrqr.com over HTTPS in a compatible camera-enabled browser.
  2. Select Start camera and allow camera permission.
  3. Hold a clearly printed or displayed QR code inside the frame. After detection, the value is saved to Recent scans.
  4. Copy the saved value, select Go for an HTTP or HTTPS link, or select Scan another to continue.

You can also paste a link into Add a link for later to save it in Recent scans without using the camera.

How do I generate a QR code from a URL?

Enter a complete HTTP or HTTPS website URL in the generator and select Generate QR. The QR preview appears beside the form on larger screens and below it on smaller screens. QR generation happens in your browser and does not require camera access.

Common questions

What is AR/VR QR Code Scanner?

AR/VR QR Code Scanner is a free browser tool at arvrqr.com for scanning QR codes and generating QR codes from website URLs. Scanning and generation run locally in your browser.

Which devices can use the scanner?

The scanner requires a browser that exposes camera access, a working camera, HTTPS, and camera permission. AR and VR headset support depends on the device and browser; not every headset browser exposes its cameras. Compatible phone and desktop browsers can also use the tools.

Are scanned QR codes or generated URLs uploaded?

No. Camera frames, decoded QR values, and URLs entered into the QR generator are processed locally and are not uploaded. Up to eight recent scans stay in this device's local storage. A preference cookie remembers the bookmark reminder, and anonymous interaction analytics may be collected without those contents.

Can I generate a QR code without a camera?

Yes. Enter a complete HTTP or HTTPS website URL in the generator and select Generate QR. The generator requires JavaScript, not camera permission, and creates a high-contrast QR code with a white border in your browser.

Where are my recent scans stored?

Up to eight recent scans are stored in this browser's local storage on this device, not in an account or a shared server database. Use Clear recent scans to remove them; clearing browser site data also removes them.

What should I do if camera access fails?

Open the site over HTTPS, allow camera permission, and check that another app is not using the camera. If your browser does not expose camera access, use a compatible browser or add a link manually. The URL-to-QR generator can still work without a camera.
